Hello All,

As a bit of a shoe fanatic, I am wanting to break into a slightly more budget field than C&J handgrades in order to add more shoes to my rotation. I am thinking of getting some Alfred Sargents from Pediwear.

I know their lesser line use corrected grain leather etc and are not too crash hot, but what about the premier line? Can anybody comment on the quality of their leather/construction? Are we thinking similar quality to C&J benchgrade? (Bear in mind the price difference)

Also, I want an inexpensive suede shoe, what are people's opinions of the AS Cobram? It seem the best value for money from the AS suede shoes (It's part of the Knightsbridge line) I'm just a little concerned about the rubber middle sole. Should I be?

I have a pair of CJ Langhams as well as a pair of AS Lamports.

To me (not a shoe expert, so this is my IMVeryHO), I would say that they are basically equivalent in quality and feel (comfort) to me.

I'm sure some of the acknowledged shoe experts will be along shorty to give detailed analysis, and be able to tell you much more then I can.

By the way, the particular shoe in the premier line I am looking at is the 'Dartmouth'. The wingtip brouge in Chestnut.

The shoes from the Premier Collection are burnished calf which would suggest that the leather is not corrected grain.

Also, do people have pics of shape of favourite style from Alfred Sargent - from above and side?

Sorry, cannot provide the style you're asking for, but here are some snapshots of my recently acquired Alfred Sargent 'Woodbridge' in Espresso Burnished Calf from their Premier Collection.
