    Gentlemen,

Due to AFPoS leaving this forum I suggest to continue discuss Alfred Sargent MTO shoes here in this thread

There is possibility to place these orders trough another stockist (Shoehealer)

I don't think it hurts feelings of AFPoS as the company left by itself

I personaly corresponded with shoehealer and he preposed me that servises. Moreover he said that we can get less than 6 orders of equal specifiation of shoes (SOME MODELS). Some models he can be interested to add to his stock.

He said me that in that case we must have 3-4 orders

I am interested in Benson and Carrol

    Let's discuss

It seems that Alfred Sargent is attempting to impose a degree of geographic price discrimination, as AS resellers in the UK and EU are apparently now not allowed to ship to the US.

As AFPoS is located in the UK and as most SF members are in the US, I suppose that they thought that, with the restrictions placed by AS, it wasn't worth their while to continue to be an SF affiliate as they can't sell their shoes to most of the people on this site.

People in the US can still buy AS shoes from places like Leffot. However, as is often the case, buying over the internet is probably cheaper and hence that is why people were purchasing from AFPoS and it is probably why AS closed the door on that option, as their US resellers were losing customers - although that is just a guess.

Yup! We need more AS shoes to get some variety on the tread. Still wanting to see some well-worn Moores.

Nevertheless I think it's comfortable to have separate thread to discuss only group MTOs.

There was much of duscussions in the old thread but only 3 MTOs: Millers, Bensons, Ramsy. All in cordovan.

I would be interested in Exclusive specification of HandGrade desighn (as was done earlier).... So the price as Exclusive but HandGrade models.
We can count wished models and when it gets to 4 minimum order group MTO

I knew about AFPoS not being able to sell AS outside the EU, but I wouldn't say it's price discrimination per se but about catering to specific markets. My guess is that a lot of other shoe companies do the same thing (ie. EG, C&J, Gaziano/Girling, etc.), so I don't really fault AS for imposing restrictions on their resellers. By the way, AFPoS isn't the only AS reseller that isn't allowed to sell outside the EU, Bodily's of Northhampton and Pediwear also cannot sell AS outside the EU.

Buying over the internet is definitely cheaper. I would rather order from and support companies like AFPoS than pay $200 more for the same pair of shoes from Leffot. With that said, I think a good strategy would be for AS to do what Carmina is doing - make certain shoes available only through certain websites, thus offering some exclusivity. If you look at the epaulet site they do have certain models of Carmina that aren't available through Carmina direct. this seems more practical to me. it gives consumers the ability to buy a specific brand but it also gives them an incentive to buy from a US company.

Don't forget the BLAKE order! I'm still waiting for it. I reached out to them about 10 days ago and am still waiting to be updated. I'm also happy to get involved with someone else who is willing to execute these special orders. (Specifically ordering their shoes in a G wodth without having to do a one-off handgrade MTO.)

Does anyone have an idea when the AFPOS MTO Blake was slated for delivery? Have the Milton's been delivered yet? I reached out to AFPOS but it appears they're not getting a response from the factory.

I know these things never come when you want them to, but I'm now trying to determine when they were originally slated for delivery. I believe the thread with that information is no longer available.

    Thanks

I am waiting for both Milton and Blake. As far as I know they are have not been delivered to anyone yet. I contacted AFPoS last month and they said soon. I am not sure what "soon" means, but they have been ordered since Sep. 2012 and Oct. 2012 respectively. Please email Julian and Sarah Nelson. I myself got tired of asking.

When we did the Miller boots it took 4 months longer than promised due to lack of materials. We were never really informed so it made it extremely difficult to know when they would be in.

I emailed Julian yesterday and he replied with the same answer, he said that AS is extremely busy and he said that AS refused to give him any reasonable estimate. It was a half assed reply, but I was expecting it.

Thanks everyone, I'm trying not get negative about it. I just got my Leather Soul special order 16 mo later. Lets hope this doesn't go that long. The fact that SS and others haven't received their Milton's yet does not give me any relief. I wrote them a month ago, they said they reached out to AS and haven't had any news back. Bummer.
