They look awesome and this is another testament to the durability of shell.

Nice, though that's some real tall shaft boot (or just the picture)

I believe e worked it out with Chay to have it cut higher... I hope their MTO program will still continue with this type of flexibility...

Beautiful, are they hard to put on and take off, that is the sole reason for my lack of boots....

Can you locate where the squeaking is coming from?

I had GGs that squeaked at the edge of the heel counter, quite loudly too. Squeaked when you pressed on the spot too. Those needed to be repaired to fix the problem.

Maybe it's just the heels in your case. Not sure if length factors in though...

The squeaking occurs as I move, so I'm pretty certain it's to do with friction between the sock and the heel lining. This is the 2nd pair of shoes which does this, the 1st being a RMW boot which was rebuilt 0.5 size down but it still happens. Boot doesn't get much wear time as a result. Hopefully the noise in the AS gets lesser as the leather stretches with wear. Gonna try talcum powder if it doesn't improve in a week. Heel pads won't work as the shoe has lasted trees. Fingers crossed...

They're pretty easy actually. The shell and lining are pretty soft. What takes time is the lacing. But I can get my foot in/out with easily with it laced up to the first hook. Then I just usually only use one set of hooks and wrap the laces around my ankle, as shown on the right boot. It's pretty quick.

That's interesting. .. thought they looked ever so slightly narrower ....plus they look better with age..nice patina.

Hi,

I am new to the world of English shoes and would like to have some advise on sizing. I'm looking into AS specifically for the Ramsey double monks. it looks like you guys have good thing to say about that shoe. However my issue is that I don't know my size. I'm hoping you can help.

My foot is narrow and very little arch. I am a 8.5C in the Brannock device. For US brands, I wear a 8C in Alden Barrie and Trubalance. The 8C in the Barrie is as much a perfect fit for me. I wear a 8.5D in the Alden Leydon unlined Chukka. However my right foot is a bit smaller (8D Brannock) than my left and I do feel a bit of movement. I think it would have been better if I got a 8.5C. For AE, I wear a 8D in the Strand, in their 5 last.

I have tried on Alden Plaza last. The 8D is snug for me. My left pinky toe gets a bit of pressure. I was not able to try the 8.5C in the store because they didn't have one.

Again, this would be my first dip into English shoes so no experience on sizing. If you guys can point out US manufactured lasts equivalent to the AS99, maybe I can fit those as well , Any help would be appreciated.

I have AE PA in US 7E, and Ramsey in UK 6.5F; so I recommend size down by half to UK 7.5 F for you, however, you may feel there is a bit of room as F will be roomy for narrow feet.

+1; I'm a US 7D and take 6.5F on my Ramsey shoes. Fit is good.
