Thank you Jasper.Highly interesting update on the Sargent story: The Alfred Sargent saga is not over! In this large interview with Paul Sargent you'll learn why the company ended up in liquidation, what will happen to the Alfred Sargent brand, and most importantly about how Paul will continue to make shoes in the Rushden factory. Read the interview here.
Cheers!Thank you Jasper.
Normally I'd share this view, but from reading Jespers interview it appears the new company will have the original factory, staff, machinery, lasts and patterns of AS. Also the AS brand has apparently only existed since the mid 80s but the factory has been going since the 1890s, so the real history is retained.Good to hear that AS will not "disappear", but it'd be less attractive to me if branded with a different name.
They can hopefully retain “Sargent” linking it to the founder and family behind the company.Normally I'd share this view, but from reading Jespers interview it appears the new company will have the original factory, staff, machinery, lasts and patterns of AS.
