This will definitely add wear/grip to your boots when fitted. Thanks, was thinking whether a rubber half-sole is needed. never tried AS shoes before

I think perhaps Cheaney due to how the soles are done
I put my money on Crockett & Jones given price ange and expected specifications. The numbers don't add up for other makers. AS handgrade is no more, Cheaney Imperial cost less.
View attachment 907304 As of yesterday, I have now joined the AS family by welcoming both the Hannover and Cambridge onto my feet. I looked at boots from many different makers and decided that both of these best fit the criteria for what I was looking for. Regarding fit, I am a US 8.5D and struggled with deciding between a 7 and 7.5. I ended up ordering the 7, as my goal was to wear these with dress socks rather than thicker socks. Out of the box, they fit snug, but not tight. Very pleased with both the fit and finish.
I looked really hard at the Conniston going in, and thought that is what I would end up with. In the end though, just couldn’t justify the extra $200, especially considering the harsh winters I face living in MN.This post is just flat out gorgeous
Makes it very hard for me to consider a $170 resole for my CJ connistons.

They are great boots, the quality and craftsmanship is something you can feel every time you but a new pair of AS is Only 100 to 150more than a resole.
I’m no mathematician but the value delta starts to lean towards the Sargent. Particularly since I keep hearing great things about their quality as well
