Greetings. I have been lurking for some time. Just joined and this is my first post. Today I received new Alden cordovan monk straps. I normally wear 13E. The shoes (gorgeous BTW) feel great on my feet but when walking there is a bit more heel lift than I would like (without tightening the strap). Can I assume that as the shoes get softer the lift will diminish or are the shoes too big? I have read that Alden shoes run larger than true sizes. Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I am pleased to hear that because I didn't feel going smaller would be good.
