I will have to agree. Bought my first pair of Aldens there (Indy boot) and might go back to get a pair of longwings

Overpriced. What, they think that just because they're made in the U.S. that we should pay Union rip-off prices?

At regular retail prices, who makes a better shoe?

I've been there a few times. The showroom is small, but they seem to have a good amount of stock behind the scenes. They commonly run modest sales -- 10 to 20% off. They carry Alden shoes, belts, and accessories. I bought a pair of shell wingtips with matching belt and a small wallet. The Alden products are very high quality. The salesmen are knowledgable and patient with customers. Worth a visit...

The landlord, on the other hand, no doubt, is a the very model of restraint. He probably likes Alden so much he lets them have that store location for free.

so i was at the alden shop today and i bought a pair of cordovan longwings. they're great. the sales associate told me its better to have the shoes a bit too tight than too less as the cordovan will stretch. then i called a friend of mine who said cordovan doesn't stretch at all. i'm quite confused. will my shoes stretch a bit. to be honest i don't need them to stretch much just the slightest bit.
thanks

The SA was correct, they'll stretch and you'll be glad you bought them fitting snug.
