Alden Shoe Trees?

Hi guys, is there a benefit to using Alden shoe trees with Alden shoes? Just asking because they are on the pricey side, about $35. If there is no real benefit, I can just buy $10 cedar shoe trees from K&G.

It would depend. Are the Alden shoe trees shaped like a Barrie last?

If they are, and if your Aldens are also Barrie lasted, then matching the last of the tree to the last of the shoe is pretty important.

Certainly worth $35, if you intend to keep your Aldens, or buy others in the future.

The look like rebranded woodlore trees and are not lasted trees. If it were me, I'd just go with generic trees.....

This is correct. There is nothing special about them, and $35 is a ripoff price for a generic split-toe shoe tree.

If you're anywhere near a Nordstrom Rack you can get the functionally equivalent trees for $13, sometimes as low as $9 a pair.

Got a bunch of shoe trees there recently. I was able to cherry picked the best ones they had at one store. At another store, they had some medium size trees packaged as large size.
