I would love that in cigar, but with a reverse welt.

They're boots...I find boots that are too sleek and slender are not Alden's forte. To each their own though...

Can we get 12 solid commits to the makeups we have on there right now?

[quote cannot get behind any NST/Tanker type design with stitching on the toe. Let's not have multiple options with that feature?[/quote]
Seconded...I am not a tanker person.

A leydon last Indy might satisfy both groups?

I will commit to the #4 Brixton right now.

I may commit to one of the others if there isn't enough interest in the Brixton, but that one is my first choice.

For me it's a more a fit issue. The Leydon isn't really sleek, but it's narrower in the heel.

I'd be in provided it wasn't on the Barrie. I'd prefer commando soles as well but it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Commando would probably work. I've never worn other lasts except Barrie, so I have no strong feelings towards one last or another. Though since Leydon is considered a mini-Barrie, I'd probably be fine with that.

I'm surprised fewer stores do shortwing bluchers in rarer shells.

Opinions on exposed eyelets, either in matching agatine or brass?

While I appreciate NYR stepping in to move things along, you sort of jumped the gun. There's been a lot of interest in non-Barrie last, some of which for sure has been Leydon. I agree that the Atom in Tremont looks great, but I also very much like the Leydon, and it's not the same.

The whole point of this is to get some options w/ real support, that fit a certain aesthetic. If we're gonna wait a while, it might as well be for the shoes we really want.

I was never interested in a Tanker, and my LWB preferences were pretty specific. It's why I've been so vocal. The poll leaves a lot of us, myself included, w/out a strong vote. I was planning to compile all the different suggestions, edit, combine, and make poll after the weekend, b/c I really wanted to get as close to consensus for the options as possible.

I'll skip voting, and not commit to anything, rather than settle for something that's less than ideal.

EDIT: I don't want to sound like I'm bitching, or just not getting my way. Just trying to voice a clear opinion.

I'd be interested in a Leydon tanker w/ commando sole...

Considering NYR and others are moving the boat along for a rarer shell makeup, I am going to take the lead on a foul-weather mixed media boot that I think is one of the more unique makeups we have discussed so far...Although we don't know exactly the pieces that we can mix and match, I know a number of people have voiced interest for a reverse chamois and scotch grain calf makeup. In my opinion, that will be super unique and something no other Alden retailer has ever put together. Also using a non-rare shell ensures a more timely (hopefully mid-fall delivery)

If you are seriously interested please vote in the attached poll and we can agree on the auxiliary details. As it stands, the details that make the most sense are reverse chamois and scotch grain with commando sole. Besides that I am open and hopefully we can get a consensus.

I would prefer hidden eyelets for a shortwing.
