if scotch shell is an option, i'd be a HUGE fan of doing a mixed media wingtip boot on an antique edgetrim and commando sole.

imagine #8, ravello, or cigar shell with the following smooth/scotch grain make up. Badass.

Area 1: scotch grain on the toe with medalian perforations
    Area 2: smooth shell
    Area 3: Scotch grain shell
    Area 4: smooth shell

there is a chance that the only area you could switch media for is area 2, and in that case i think one would do smooth shell there and pebble everywhere else.

would you guys be ammendable to v or u tip boot instead of a tanker? it still has the split toe but not not the massive front stitching. I am probably alone in this opinion...

Quick note on stitching - any split-toe or moc-toe stitching on shell cordovan has to be handsewn and not machine stitched. I believe that this is case for chromexcel too. So a shell boot will always have that thicker split toe stitch.

Maybe we can get some support for this and get it made!

I can't wear the Barrie last in any size and it would be great to be able to buy a longwing that actually fits my foot. I know there are other people that just won't buy Barrie lasted shoes due its fit.

    Hey guys,

Thanks so much for all of your patience. We've formally built out the Whiskey Shell Wingtip Boot on our website, and we're accepting deposits on it now. Preorders will be open until next Saturday the 4th.

Thanks Mike! wasn't sure if an 8.5 D or an 8E was the way to go so ordered one of each. Shouldn't have a problem selling one of them [IMG]

I would be down for either last but with a preference for the Grant last.

Mike mentioned that we need a dozen people to express interest and we can get this rolling (contingent on scotch grain availability). We have 3 so far. Considering Mike does an amazing job writing his presale text, I imagine if we have 8 or so people with firm interest on this thread, a preorder would definitely get 12 out in the wild. :slayer:

    Let's do this.

I would be down for this in a heartbeat...

Mike, do you think this is possible? I would happily wait a year for this.

I am down for pull tabs. Seems like an easy add.

Have never seen a v-tip boot, but would be amenable to that. Probably get more interest in a Tanker boot though. Not really down for a u-tip (indy-style) boot.

I am sincere in my interest, for similar reasons. I can make Barrie work, but I won't buy a shell shoe in it. Boot might be a little better, but the wide heel sort of kills me.

Agreed. If longwing above is a non starter, and this could work, I'd put my money where my mouth is.

I'd throw my vote against v-tip/tanker. Not in...but maybe we're talking about 2 different ideas here. If so, I'll just skip the tanker.
