    Ravello Cap Toe Modified

    790 Euro

    ****Edit for price****

Look at it this way, the Euro is trading at ~$1.22. Imagine if it was $1.65 to the Euro.

A very rough calculation to exclude VAT suggests that these are maybe $50 more than a pair of whiskey shell cap toes I recently bough from Alden Madison Ave (including tax). So, there's shipping, as well, but if we could get a makeup done here in the U.S. in one of the rare colors, my guess is that the pricing is going to be very close.

I think we're just interested in expensive shoes, gents.

You should change your name to FrankCowpersgland.

It's an intriguing idea, though I think it obscures the allusion somewhat. Thanks for the suggestion, Pat.

I'm not sure if that price includes VAT or not . . .

    ****EDIT****

As stated below, this price includes VAT which is ~19.6% or something like that.

I just placed an order for a pair of the Ravello plain toe boots and was told that as a retail store Anatomica cannot take off the VAT... which was disappointing... but I still ordered them...

Yes, that was my experience as well. No VAT off and the price quoted includes VAT.

That doesn't seem right to me. Most goods exported to non-EU countries should be taxed at 0% VAT.

May I ask what size you ordered? And when? I called them last week and was told that they are all out of ravello plain toe boots, but perhaps they meant my size.

^^^ More than likely. They only gave me a list of shoes in my size. No ravello PT mentioned.

I agree that it's strange but I have dealt with a number of small businesses in the EU that are like that. Oddly, those businesses are in France and Germany. I had no issues getting VAT exemption with some vendors in Spain and Italy. I think it just depends on the vendor. At the end of the day, it's all about willing buyer and willing seller. No one got a raw deal as long as the facts are clear and acceptable to both parties.

Still, that's ~$160 worth of VAT. I don't want to pay it if I don't have to. I can get a nice sport shirt or a pair of trousers for that.

I think that this pair is just too big and I might be fucked... They were a special make-up, single pair, so I'm stuck with them. There is one very good shop in Manhattan i will try to consult on the fit....

You can get VAT off if you buy in store in Paris, then go get a VAT refund at airport...
