From Anatomica - cigar and suede. These are the real deal.

Again, let me clarify - Rafael from Moulded Shoe was told - outright - that he cannot do a Styleforum special order. Alden is now 18-24 months backlogged in production. We have to put together a serious letter and petition, as was my intention from the beginning. I will do the work, but we need the backbone and patience.

Not sure if they are still in stock, but you can contact Moulded Shoe in NYC.

It's a shell chukka on Modified last circa US$1,300, if you can find some.

For the tan suede LWB I'd be in if it wasn't crepe sole. What about double waterlock?

^^ I'd like to push for the plantation crepe sole, but am not opposed to other ideas. Would you like to add a rationale to your proposal for the double waterlock soles?

Here are some pics of some different options.

I like the look of plantation crepe with lighter suedes.

^ I like the first one.

But can't Moulded already order this sort of thing?

Just don't like the feel of crepe soles and they are not that much more comfortable. Waterlock is just as good in wet weather as well

The cigar x suede looks awesome! Really like the look of a V tip derby on the modified. Maybe Raphael needs to hear the old "try, try again" pep talk.

Does anyone have any experience ordering from Anatomica? Do they ship to the US? Maybe we can do a MTO with them.

Lakota House has done some rare shell makeups on the Modified within the last couple years.

Gotta be honest here, I can see why Alden is keeping Modified Last shoes from being sold in the US. These things are going for $1300 in Japan, a $600 markup on standard US prices. With e-commerce the way it is, they would lose a TON of money if shell began popping up online at US merchants in this last. It sucks, yes, but no matter how many signatures you get, I don't think they'd agree to produce it, and honestly, I don't blame them.

You're exactly right. I think Alden is partially bound (if not legally, then by a gentlemanly custom) to limit Modified last makeups in the US.

And I wouldn't be surprised to learn that this has something to do with the Modified last color 8 v tips being removed from the Leffot blog.

Although for clarification, you wrote that "they would lose a TON of money". Are you referring to Alden or the Japanese retailers? Seems to me that Alden wouldn't lose a dime.........
