I have never posted here and I am hoping for some help.
I am wondering if someone who owns a pair of Alden Indy's in CXL can tell me what they did in terms of fit. I measured my feet in a pair of thinner wool socks and I am right on the 10.5 line in terms of length and a D in width. I know that Indy's run large, so, my thought was to go with a 10D. I also went to a local shop that sells Indy's and I tired a pair on in 10 and they are a little tight - not terrible, but, a bit. I also tried on some 10.5's and they felt great, but, maybe a little big.
The guy at the shop where I tried on the 10 is a cobbler and he felt that the 10 were the right fit. His thought was that the shoes would stretch some with wear and become perfect for me. However, this was also his last indy in a 10d - and although I have no reason to not trust his advise, I also have never worked with him before.
So, the question is do people usually buy the shoe a little tight and then have them stretch (which I have heard is something that cxl does more than typical leathers) of go with a shoe that is comfortable now but maybe a little big.
As a note, I have a pair of the shoes that are linked below. Went with a 10.5 and although they were comfortable and fit well initially, my feet are sliding a bit in them now that they have stretched.

I am leaning toward the 10's and perhaps having the boots stretched by a cobbler if needed (length of the 10 is fine btw).
Thoughts?
