Very, very nice. I talked to the folks at J. Gilbert yesterday, and they said that they are also expecting a shipment of shell Indy Boots. I know that Tom at Leathersoul had some of those.

Ha! Dumb SA at Neimans mailed me the wrong size not realizing they were in UK.

Id imagine the Aldens should be around $560-$575.00 considering thats what most Alden Shells go for.

I bet these are at least $675-700.Can't you return the shoes to the store?I would just return and ask for refund.

Thats actually going to happen by mid-week if they dont go. Its a shame..

Btw - Ive never seen an Alden shell go for more than $575.00 FWIW

Retailers are selling cigar/whiskey past the $600 mark now.

robin is certainly correct. For over a year now I've seen several retailers with prices on whiskey and cigar Alden shell at above $600.

I bought the Norwegian Split Toe boot by Alden of Carmel and available through J. Gilberts on the Plaza last

Roomy fit and the sole is soft and comfortable...I was impressed at this ankle boots comfort level and look forward to the same boot, different last but in Cordovan leather via Tom at LeatherSould come summertime

Interesting Jay. Looks like those retailers are inflating retails on their custom order styles to make up for the margin loss. My local Alden dealer here on 43rd retails his specials including some Tobacco Shell Norgwegian Toes @$575.00
