i got my plaza wingtip shell boots from Tom LeatherSoul:

they are amazing. My first pair of boots and they are simply amazing. rich sweet smell to them, decadent feel, very heavy,
and easy to put on and laceup,
i thought they would be hard to get my feet in and out but it is not since it is a derby boot.

    thanks Tom!![IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Very nice, Brian. Is that a leather or a rubber soul?

    I'm partial to mine [IMG]

The #8's are the 4060 model and the black's are the 4065.

Are all three of these the same size (or is the Long Wing different)?

Those are awesome, shoe. Honestly, I like them even more because they are somewhat "un-Alden", they have that slightly chiseled and flattened toe, and from what I can tell an extended welt lip? But still all incorporated into that bomb-proof Alden manufacturing. Love it.

hello everyone thanks for the great complements.

the sizing is actually it runs a tad bit long but the width is great.

i usually take a size 10D in most shoes, i got a 10D in these and the length is a tad long but because these are boots, the fit is very good and comfortable. VERY COMFORTABLE!

Tarmac, actually the photo from Tom is a bit tricky because the toe is not that flattened nor chiseled. it is actually traditionally round but a slight square but still this compares to the gunboat look of the barrie sort of.

however the boots are immense, very beautiful and very awesome. i wore them to church today and out tonite and they are amazing.

Brian, don't you usually have an admiring period? What made you wear these outside so quickly?

you guys really know me [IMG]

i dont know why, but i guess mostly because these are Cordovan and these are boots , really rugged looking with the double sole so

i wanted to get them to their natural antique, aged, and manly-worn look as quickly as possible.

you see, i saw a few photos of beautiful aged cordovan shoes those that are 20 to 30 years old. i want my boots to get this way.

my other shoes are elegant dress shoes, i usually have a cooling period or wait period for those.

this is a double leather sole.

If i had a choice i would have gone for the lugged rubber commando sole.

as a rugged , gunboatlike, thick manly boot like this deserves to be worn in foul weather.

All of them are the same size (11.5 B/D). The longwings are on a different last though.
