Hi , I am a new member. You have a great site here ! I will travel to Memphis next week, and would like to bring a pair of Alden cordovan boots back home to Norway. I would prefer to buy them in a shop to get the right fit, since I have not tried the plaza or grant lasts. I wear Aberdeen lasts in 10E and 10,5 D, Van last in 10E and Barrie in 9,5E. Any suggestions for shops would be much appreciated. It is also an option to get them via shortmar.com or similar, but I would then need more advise on the right size in those last. Any suggestions for shops or sizing would be much appreciated.

Memphis has a Brooks Brothers but last I was there, they didn't carry shoes. There may be an Alden dealer there but I'm unsure of who it would be.

Oak Hall has a VERY limited supply of Alden's though, and their prices are exorbitant. Their shoe selection is pitiful as well, and from what I have seen the do not carry any Alden models in Cordovan. Buyer beware. If I could offer you any recommendations, work with theshoemart.com or Leffot or Leather Soul.

Excellent call!

For future reference (I've done this before), if you're going to be in the US, you can order (from Alden of Carmel, say) and have the goods shipped to your hotel ahead of time. Then you avoid sales tax, customs, and shipping to Norway.
