I'm interested in either the Alden Longwing 9750 in Ravello ( Medium Brown) Cordovan or the J.Crew waxed Longwing bluchers in Tobacco. Obviously the biggest difference I can see is the price. The Alden 9750 is listed at $710 and the J.Crew is $515. Anyone have any insight over which may be the best value? I'm looking to pair the longwings with a grey suit or daily wear with jeans and khaki's.

the tobacco LWB is more casual so I guess it depends on your style. Personally I prefer shell because I like the look of the leather. Both would be fine with jeans/khaki's but depending on the environment you wear a suit in, you might be able to pull off the ravello; the tobacco I think would look too casual paired with a gray suit. I typically wear balmorals when I wear suits though so maybe others can provide their opinion.
