WTB the filled filled overshirt (sky captain) in M if anyone has one they want to let go of. It is sold out on their site.

It looks like it is an oversized fit. I am 6' 200 lbs. I usually stick to L. The pics online have 6'1 models in M and it looks slightly large on them so I am thinking I need a M as the sleeves may hang past my knuckles. Does anyone know if they are oversized? Does the brand ever do restocks?

are these high quality though? Never really seen ALD in person like that lol.

They’re not high quality for the price you pay. Average fabric, Made in China. There’s definitely way better options out there for the money. At this stage unfortunately most of what you’ll get from ALD is average quality, Made in China and at a high price point. Due to the hype you’re really only paying for the brand now. Shame because they used to be great quality and all made in Canada/NYC.

it doesn’t, but let’s no act like ALD even wants you to know it’s from China. They say “imported” on their website, but if it’s made in Canada they say so. Nothing wrong with having things made in China, as they can produce some really good quality stuff, with a lower price point, but then why aren’t the prices reflecting that?

my issue with ALD is the pricing. Their tees don’t feel or wear as nice as say Standard Issue, yet their tees are $90. How is a simple logo tshirt $75-$90 from ALD. It actually boggles my mind.

I agree that it certainly doesn't mean low quality. But for $265 you'd expect a high quality pair of pants, however these are rather average quality at best. A lot of other options at that price point that use nicer fabrics and are made in a country that doesn't abuse workers rights. Like mentioned the prices have gone up, production costs have gone down since movement to China and quality has gone down as well.

Their tees and sweats are from House of Blanks, right? Roopa of Supreme fame without the branding. Standard Issue is great value for the price but ALD's pricing doesn't seem that out of line in today's streetwear environment. The tees sell out instantly and it's not like we're talking about the Virgil/Pyrex markup of Rugby flannels.

I think it's a bummer that their 'inhouse' stuff previously made in NYC/Canada stayed the same price when production moved to China, but it's probably been great for their business as the hype has increased. At least domestic production wasn't a core part of their original marketing (from what I can tell).

IMO, you can't beat Carhartt's double knee pants for quality or price. I just don't care for the extra pockets, hammer loop, or the baggy fit....so, I ordered my size in 5 different colors, took an exacto knife and scissors to them to remove all extra pockets. Next I took them to my seamstress to have them slimmed down. Voila...they are pretty Fing great now!

I like a cleaner, slimmer look.

Their are very inexpensive, very very well made, and I love the material...perfect to customize! And they fit me like a glove now.

I can't comment on this season's, but I have the ss20 denim ones (which were Made in Italy), and they're awesome. The fit is perfect, and for comparison's sake, if you think the 18 East ones are high quality, you will definitely be happy with the quality of the ALDs.

Sure! A lot of the Japanese brands make carpenter pants, so the likes of Kapital, VISVIM, Junya, Beams, etc. all make great quality ones. Would be similar price point to ALD (VISVIM could be a bit more), but all better made with nicer fabrics from what I've seen.

But tbh nothing wrong with the Carhartt ones that can be easily found on sale for at least a quarter the price of the ALD ones. Very similar quality to them as well.
