Just wondering if anyone has personally aged (outside of everyday use) a pair of Red Wing boots to get something like the ones they sell on J Crew? And if so how?

No experience with Red Wings (yet), but I think wearing them works wonders for aging a pair of shoes.

Also, Red Wings are more Streetwear & Denim territory. There's a huge thread or several devoted to the brand and its various product lines.

Just wear them as much as you can and don't polish or clean them.

During my fraternity days in Austin, peeps used to string their new Red Wings to their bumpers, then do figure eights around gravel parking lots. That worked pretty well.

(PS I tried to buy a new pair recently, and the new models look totally ******. Rubber soles? Eh?)

(PPS You also kind of just have to lol at Red Wings now being 'rediscovered'/'re-imagined' by J Crew and sold to/fretted over by style forum types. Classic.)
