is this only for things we bought?

paul smith chukka boots in a nice patina choco-brown from barney's $200 (50% off). i'm impressed by nighttrain's haul from barneys, mine did not give nearly that good of a discount.

for a split second i considered a pair of john lobb chelsea boots (the tudor) in black at nieman marcus, they were marked $1000 (down from $1500). I didn't dare ask if the additional 25% discount applied or not, too worried i would give it more consideration! they were absolutely gorgeous though, for anyone in DC that wears a JL 10.5 they're at the store in Mazza Galleria.

Perhaps I'll try them on if they're still there on Friday - happen to run past the Loro Piana section?

Neiman Marcus has nothing. The same Paul Smith as Barney's but at 70 dollars more. Shoe department is full of Gucci and Prada in ugliest lasts at pathetic discounts.
Barney's had some nice selection of shoes, but nothing in small sizes.
Practical Paul smith oxfords $178.00 and a few ankle boots for around 200.00

BB has Peal shoes for 270 + tax not worth it in my opinion.

Bentton has nothing worthy.

Banana Republic sels total crap. I could not stop smiling after seeing 100% Cashemere scarfs for 88.00 on sale, excatly the same scarfs Target sells for 24.99 without sale. Oh yes, also 100% Merino vests for 70.00 that Target sels for 14.99

I am going back online.

I checked out the christmas day sales at Brooks, Polo at 72nd Street and Saks. Not much to report, Brooks had the best sales of the lot. Saks was a madhouse, could barely make it past the women on the first floor diving into the handbags. Shoe sale was underwhelming, no EGs on sale. There also wasn't much in the shirt selection. Lots of Garrick Anderson. Corneliani and Incotex had many slacks on sale in the $130 range.

Then went up to 72nd to check out Polo, they did not have many shoes on sale. Only two EG models, both in brown suede, both with elastic side panels, priced at $359. There was also a C&J suede boot on sale for $259. Also a white and blue saddle shoe for $159. That was it. Many slacks on sale, I picked up a grey heavyweight wool in a flat front at 50% off. Suit were also 50-60% off. They also had a decent collection of polo coats in wool and camel.

I think Brooks (346 Madison)had the best selection of items on sale, and there was some semblance of order, although the place was very crowded (no surprise). They were having the 25% off with another 15% off before 1pm. I picked up a pair of brown monk strap boots. They appear to be C&Js on the 324 last. I had to go down a half-size, but the fit is good. 40% off, so reduced from $478 to about $300. Shoe trees were another $17.00. I have to say, I saw a lot of people commenting earlier about this sale, but I think C&Js (even these pseudo bench/hand grade versions by Peal) at $300 is a very good deal, if not an out and out steal like something you might find at the Barneys warehouse sale. I don't think benchgrade C&Js are as cheap as 150 GBP on pediwear even. Also picked up some merino wool pull-overs, pajama set, etc. All in all, I'd say good prices at Brooks with the 40% discount.

I was under the impression that some of the models were made by C&J, while others were made by AS. With the single row of nails on the heel indicating C&J, and the double row of nails indicating AS. The inside of the shoe indicates the 324 last, I believe thats a C&J last.

Nothing yesterday at Neiman's, but I did indulge in a pair of RL striped flannels from Lance @ Virtualclotheshorse for 10% off his usual bargains. Now if this strange non-winter would cool down enough for me to wear such things....

I think you'd have to wait a bit for Nordy's Rack. they are having their semi-annual Men's sale right now.

I picked up three shirts and three ties. All were about 50% off I think. Shirts were all basic Nodstrom brand which I am fond of. The ties were....two Robert Talbot and one...something else. XM I think.
