Affordable suits in UK (£180 or less)

All of the old threads are from people in the US and I don't have access to those stores.

I should mention - I want a fairly skinny suit, and would like to get the best quality fabric possible within the price range.. so if possible I'd like to avoid synthetic materials.
I'm a 43/44 in the shoulders and have around a 35 inch leg. Slender build.

Thanks very much in advance... and hopefully this side of the forums is more forgiving of individual threads than Streetwear seems to be.

The best quality suits I've come across for under £200 are probably TM Lewin's sale stock - start around £189, but they might not be slim enough for you.

Thanks, I'm afraid the price is probably pushing it actually (as the ones I like the look of more are in the £239 range, before an extra pair of trousers), but they look like they could be quite boxy on me anyway.

If it helps in regards to style - I'm 17.

M&S Autograph collection is slimmish and not bad quality. The jackets are fused rather than half canvased but not bad. Wool ones are about £199 or if money is really tight wool blends are cheaper.

Another (horrible) option is Top Shop. Some of the slimmest and nice cut suits I've seen in a long while. Obviously they're pollyester but at 17 you'll grow out of it within a year and unless you're at a private school or top university, no one will begrudge you for wearing a cheap suit.

Yeah I had considered them... however the quality of their other clothes really puts me off... the jeans are terrible, but their shirts and the chinos I've bought have been good and lasted well. I've stopped growing actually, and I'm at a very wealthy grammar school, in a wealthy area... fortunately most people don't know quality when they see it and cause we're only 17 mostly have reasonably low-priced suits anyway. Cheers ManofKent, I haden't noticed that The autograph has a nice slim fit suit in dark navy and a grey one in the wool blend range. They look more promising, I'll be sure to try them on soon

I wish there were grammar schools where I live.

As for suits, you're going to have to get them altered anyway, probably to have the sleeves shortened, if you want to show a bit of shirt cuff.

There are many responses from UK folk.

However Marks and Spencer will meet you requirements and are good value for money unless you want some wayward style that no one else would - The answer to that is bespoke.

This has become almost SF/Askandy folklore. Who knows which M&S suits Mahon was specifically endorsing? Nobody.

For that price, you might try Charles Tyrwhitt at one of their endless sales. You can probably snag a suit for about £179. I also bought a suit from Burton before I knew anything about clothes and, it might just be me, but it is fairly decently cut and has lasted me quite some time. It was also pretty damn cheap. Not the best quality, though.
