AE's leather is too hard!

So I work at a shoe store and we sell Allen Edmonds. I got my grubbly little hands on a pair of Park Avenues and try them on, only to find that the leather is hard as rock. I know that's normal for AE, but my problem is that my left foor is size 6.5 and my right a 7. Whenever my left foot tilts to the side, the rock-hard leather cuts into my low ankle bone, creating excellent pain.

So now that those are out of the question, I'm lost. I don't know what to do. I'm looking at a nice pair of boots - are boots compatible with suits? I can't seem to find anything.

Boots used to be the standard attire for a proper gentlemen until paved streets and motor cars became common. Unless they are Western, engineer, or Wellington boots they will look much like a regular shoe below the ankle.
