Looking to purchase but I cannot decide on the Brown or Walnut color. Any opinions? Thanks in advance.

I have a Bel Air in walnut and love them. I think the Strand comes in burnished brown which I saw at the A-E store a few weeks ago and thought it was slick. Sorry I am not much help here, but you really cannot go wrong. I supposed it depends if you tend to wear gray versus navy suits more often. I like lighter walnut with the former.

Burnished Walnut for sure, and don't use brown polish on them or you'll ruin the finish.
Lotion/condition them once every couple months, let dry then brush & buff.

I have been eyeing the walnut myself. Been waiting for a good sale price though to purchase them. Seems to be a solid $295 now. Do these shoes ever go on sale- maybe Black Friday?

Not to hijack the thread, but are a pair of walnut Strands acceptable to wear with a suit (i.e. they aren't too casual)? I ask because I plan on getting walnut Strands asap

Not too casual for a suit. You just have to know whether or not they're too casual for the occasion. NAVA23 As for color, go Walnut. Mine are highly-polished. I had a co-worker tell me the the other day, "I like those shoes. They remind me of candy." Nuff said.

I like the looks of the walnut, but I think the brown is more practical for a conservative "suit" shoe.

I imagine that in some circumstances, wearing the walnut Strand with a navy suit might come across as a touch jaunty and dandified, and I don't think it would harmonize well (or as well as the dark brown) with most shades of gray.

Still, the walnut Strand is a great looking shoe, and I would be tempted to get it if I didn't have several similarly colored A-Es in that niche. I do have the Strand in brown.

The brown is pretty dark. It might as well be called Dark Brown. It's fine and does have nice burnishing, but it's still dark.

The Walnut you can see the burnishing better. Also, as it ages, if you feel that it is too light for whatever reason, it can easily be made slightly darker over time.
