Are the Allen Edmonds Mora Double Monk Strap discontinued??? If so can anyone point me in the direction of a quality double monk strap that is affordable, I would love a pair of John Lobbs but can't quite afford those yet...

The Mora has been discontinued. It's a great shoe, and I can't understand why Allen Edmunds axed it. Occasionally, you can find a new pair on eBay, as I did.

Have you tried calling the Allen Edmonds shoe depot (or whateverthehell their location in Wisconsin is called that handles the discontinued stuff) to see if they have any? It has been a while, but that's where I got my Moras after they were discontinued.

** Edit: It's called the shoe bank. It looks like there's more than one, but the # for the one at the factory is 262-284-7158 . They have the ability to look throughout their whole system to see if there are any at other locations as well.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just called the Shoe Bank, looking for the Mora in suede. (I have it in leather.) I believe they do have some in stock, but not in my size.

I scored two pair from the shoe bank - brown calf for $85 (they screwed up the order and cut the price to make up for the hassle) and the suede ones for $129 a few months back.

NOTE: Be aware that this is the new 0 last and sizing is pretty tricky. I am a solid 10.5/EE in US, but I took a 10 E in these - they are longer and wider than you'd expect. I ordered my regular size and my feet were swimming in them; luckily they had the correct size in stock and swapping them out wasn't an issue at the time.

Normally, I am no fan of AE's styles and these are the only ones I own, but they are striking looking shoes and consistently draw compliments. They are much, much nicer in person than in pics you may have seen. Besides, at $200 & change for two pair, I didn't think I could go wrong...
