AE McTavish sizing help

Hi,

Unlike any stores that stock AE shoes, I'm located in Australia... I'm dying to get a pair of the natural waxed McTavish, but obviously can't try any on. Is anyone able to give me an idea of which size will be best to buy unseen? I'm usually a UK 11 (Euro 45) so US 11.5/12 - do I need to size down or should I be OK going for an 11.5? I can provide exact foot dimensions if needed.

Any help will be very much appreciated!

I bought the McTavish in my regular size and I found that it runs slightly large. Conventional wisdom on SF is that the Rough Collection which the McTavish is a part of, fits better when purchasing a half size down.
I've tried on the Elgin (same last as the McTavish and also part of the Rough Collection) in my size and half size smaller (12B and 11.5B) and while the smaller size was a bit snug it was the preferred fit of the two.

Thanks for the quick reply, looks like 11.5 will be the best starting point. If the fit isn't perfect I shouldn't have any trouble selling them on down here...
