I'm going to try to sell my Allen Edmonds Mcneil shell cordovans and I was wondering what you guys thought they were worth. I love the shoes but I need a size 10 D and these are 9.5 D. I have owned them for about five months and probably worn them 20 times or so. You can still see some of the original pattern on the soles. They are in great shape. It sucks to sell them and start all over again. Let me know what you think.

A pair of cordovan MacNeils that I wanted sold on Ebay for $227 last week. IMO this is too much, but obviously someone thought otherwise.

Surprised they don't fit you. My cordovan MacNeils are at least 1/2 size larger than indicated.

I recently saw and considered buying these exact shoes (AE shell Mcneil burgundy) off ebay in a 13D with a starting bid of $20 or something. With as much wear as yours, they ended up going for, can't remember precisely, but at least $220 (well out of my range for a used pair of shoes, cordovan or not).

That yours are a smaller size and therefore would attract more buyers, I imagine that you might get $250.

Then again you might get no more than $50. Ebay can be funny like that.

By the way, the bidding jumped from $60 (where they were sitting at when they first caught my eye) to the final price in a little over the final 24 hrs.

Those would be the ones I had my eye on that went for $227 (I'm also a 13D - stay away from my shoe auctions, damnit!

Well, the fact that I'm a Canadian gives you the obvious advantage over me: free or cheap shipping with no worries over customs charges.

On the other hand, if you recall yourself bidding on a brand spanking new pair of 13D black Ralph Lauren Rivingtons not long ago that sold for a paltry $130 at 14 bids, now you know who won them. And, yeah, they are beauts!

It is hard to say...
If I were selling them, I would ask $200 on the B&S thread and probably drop it down to $180 before going to eBay. I hate eBay, so I knock my stuff down hoping it will move. They would probably bring $225-$250 on eBay depending on the sole wear and the quality of your pictures.

It is hard to say, however. I have had some stuff sell for ridiculous prices lately. Some very high, and some extremely low. Luckily the highs outweigh the lows. Unfortunately, finals are coming up in a month, so my sales are going on hold. Actually, I won't be selling until after the summer due to summer clerkships.

If they were size 8.5, I would estimate their value to be about $10 shipped (and would happily buy them from you at that price).

Since they're not that size, I would take this advice...

I bought the exact same shoe in 9.5D about a year ago on ebay for $180. I considered it a steal. When I got them, I didn't like the fit or the workmanship on them. A few months later I listed them for auction with better pics and better description. I was sure I would get $250+. They sold for $180 again.

From GVH, yes. It's slim-pickings on there.
