Hi, Looking for a shoe that goes well with most of my dress clothing.
Grey and blue suits, Khaki's
What does everyone think of the AE MacNeils in pebble burgandy, can you suggest other colors that go with most. Would these look okay with black slacks?

What od their comfort...

Thanks again!

I think that shoe would go with all the things you list. But I don't know about the black slacks.

Something in a chili or dark tan should work with the non-black colors you listed.

If you wear a size they still have, those shoes are on sale now.

I own a pair of those -- great shoes, but they look best with gray, navy, and khaki. They would definitely not work with black, or even dark jeans.

Those (and most AE) shoes are not necessarily very comfortable, however.

If you want something that goes with black slacks, I'd recommend black shoes.

I have a pair in walnut grain, which is a darker reddish-brown than the calfskin equivalent. They don't go well with classic business colors (i.e., charcoal and navy), but they're amazingly versatile with chinos, cords, moleskins, jeans, and even light grey dress slacks.

Personally, I'd opt for an oxford in dark brown (such as the Fifth Avenue or the McAllister) to go with most of your dress slacks. But I wouldn't wear black clothes with anything other than black shoes, if I were you.

I own the MacNeils in Walnut pebble grain and find them very comfortable and versatile. I think the Walnut color looks better with jeans, khakis and sportscoats. The burgundy looks better with wool trousers, but would still work with khakis because of the thick sole, the broguing and the pebble grain. Like others, I would not recommend any colored shoe other than black to wear with black trousers. Other than black, burgundy looks good with most every color, even charcoal.
