Is this really the last question about AEs?

...That's probably the same as the PAs, which means true width and a half size long.

Looks like the Benton in merlot, which I have in 13D. The latter is my usual size and they are an excellent fit. If you are a "narrow D" like me, the C width might be okay.

At that price, why not take a chance? If they are too tight, you can donate them to charity and feel you have done a good deed for Xmas!

Oh, if they are Bentons, they would be on the "old #8" last, which is an excellent fit for me, in contrast to the new #8, which is not.

You're slipping, Jay. It's surely not a Benton, which is a blucher. The ones in the picture are bals.

So I am. Lapsing into senility, I guess.

Thanks for the replies. Can anyone else clarify the model and last? I have the Chester in a 13C and they fit perfectly but my Sanfords in 13D fit well too.

Thanks,

D

I think that these are the AE Lloyds, but I don't know the last. I have been unsuccessfully researching a similar (but, not exact) pair of vintage Allen Edmonds Bal wingtips that I recently purchased on ebay that have a lower vamp and 7 eyelets instead of the 6 on this model.

They aren't Lloyds. I neglected to discern that your shoes are perforated captoe and not as winged.

Sorry for having to bump this but this auction ends in a few hours. Is there anyone that is able to identify this shoe and it's last?

Thanks

i think you're just gonna have to take your chances on the last - AE has put out so many varieties of the same shoe on different lasts that it's just impossible to guess. either get the last number from the seller or make a move.

my guess as to the model, btw, is "Fifth Avenue". I have no idea what last it was on.

I get the sense you are right. I've had mixed results with just pulling the trigger but I guess I need to just make a decision and live with it.

Thanks
