AE Insole Question

I currently have 26 pairs of AE shoes and several have an insole that is padded. I think this is what is called the poron insole. It is very comfortable. It causes me to wonder why this cushioned insole is not standard issue on all AE dress shoes. Is there some reason due to the shoe's construction that prevents this? I would think that a cushioned footbed would only make the AE offerings an even better value.

I have the Holt monk strap, the Stanford boot and the Ashbury boot that have this padded insole, along with the Positano, Capri, and Muldoon loafers. Just wondering why this padded insole is not included in the dress shoe line.

The insole is made of leather, and the cork bedding underneath it forms to the shape of your foot.

Allen Edmonds are perfectly comfortable, I've walked 3 miles and danced in the club with them all night without a single problem.

Most likely either a sizing issue or that you have high/low arched feet.

No, I don't have any sizing problems. The standard AE insole is perfectly fine with me. I am simply stating that the cushioned poron insole is more comfortable. It is analogous to walking on plush carpeting (poron) versus hardwood flooring (standard cork).
