Since this shoe is on sale for $99, I'm considering buying it. Do you guys have any experience with this shoe? How does it rank in terms of comfort (particularly arch support)? Anything else I should know?

Finally, how does it size? I take an 8.5EEE in the McClain (8-last), so I'm wondering if I should go for the same size.

Sorry to keep bumping this thread, but the sale ends in a couple days so I'm trying to get info. Anyone have any input?

No problem.

Another question for those who respond. I've heard that the Everett is not welted. What exactly does this mean? Is it a bad thing?

That means you probably can't get the thing resoled. There is a reason the shoe is cheap.

Send your questions to the Allen Edmonds customer service people. They'll know more about the specifics than we do.

Nonetheless, I'm interested in the opinions of those who have worn the shoe, since customer service usually--in my experience--isn't very useful in evaluating the comfort/quality of the shoe and whatnot.

I'll call about the recrafting.

post some pics and you likely have far more luck with responses. most of us (myself included) are too lazy to google for pics if we aren't familiar with the exact model.

^Although I hear the color/texture looks a bit different in person. Maybe this photo is more accurate:

Those are probably made with a moccasin style construction, or some similar variant.

I was leaning toward chili (pictured above), although tan is also available depending on which size (width) I decide to get.

I'm not that familiar with shoe construction and I haven't been able to find much info online. What exactly is the preference? Welted or moccasin style? Or should I say, the pros and cons?
