I went to Nordstrom today to get sized on Allen Edmonds. They had Cliftons right next to the Park Ave and I liked them so I got a pair (Burgundy). I got home and can't find them on the AE website or in the 2011 AE catalog. Doing some searching, it looks like they're discontinued. Did I get hosed? Is the reason they were discontinued related to the style? I was hoping for something timeless. I'd love thoughts on whether I should exchange them or just enjoy them. Thank you. Here's a link to them @ Nordstrom, but Burgundy isn't on here: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/allen-ed...oxford/2892042

Great looking shoes. AE occasionally does styles for Nordstrom that are not available on their website.

Enjoy!

I'm no expert but if I like a shoe, even if it is discontinued I'll buy it an wear it with pride. I do have a pair of vintage burgundy Dexter captoes and even though they may not be considered popular or even a very good shoe, the leather and look is very sharp and I get complements regularly. Most people have no idea what a good quality shoe is.

If I didn't feel good about a purchase like yours, I would return it.

I like those. I'd like not having a color that is readily available.
Enjoy the more uniqueness.......as it were.

The Clifton is one of the better-looking AE models --- nice sleek design. I own a pair in black. You didn't get hosed; you bought a stellar shoe at a great price.

Thanks all, I was worried that the sales guy may have have been pushing me that way. It's good to hear from people who know what they're talking about.
