Looks like your hair is thick enough to pull it off. Honestly I would just let it grow a little longer so they have something to work with and take a couple nice prints of what you are looking for to a good hair stylist. If they know what they are doing it shouldn't be hard for them to pull off with your hair.

Also, great you are loosing the fohawk. It's overdone with men in general and has got to go.
