here are some tips that i think should help your average newcomer

1. if you just have a simple quick question, start with searching for it in the search bar at top right.

sometimes there is too much info to comb through, the info might be old and dated or maybe your question hasnt been addressed if so,

2. try posting it in the quick question thread, its pinned and always available.

sometimes your question might not get answered or you might be misunderstood

3. if you still feel unsatisfied starting a new thread its not illegal, but be forewarned unbeknownst to you your question maybe very ameteur sounding and you may get some mildy sarcastic to flat out insulting responses DO NOT FREAK OUT

this is nothing personal just the way it is around here. if you take a breath you can usually even appreciate the humor of it. take it with a grain of salt and keep trying

if you can handle it there is much to learn here from many people. you will soon learn the personalities of different users and come to understand them better. if you stick with it you will come to enjoy it very much. there is a great amount of camaraderie here and you can find people with knowledge that you might not find in you own circles. lastly you will be able to gain a far greater understanting and breadth of knowledge of the classic fashion world

good luck and stay positive, the quest to dress well is not an overnight process it will take time and effort but is well worth it in the long run

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
