So my mother has about 130 pieces of jewelry that belonged to my grandmother. Some of it isn't worth much, but select pieces are worth hundreds and (I believe) thousands of dollars. She asked me for a bit of guidance in reselling these pieces, but I know absolutely nothing of the jewelry market. I'm not certain she's ideally suited to sell on eBay, being a bit tech-averse and not entirely on top of some of the more specific details of the pieces.

What would you recommend to squeeze maximum profits out of the pieces?

My mother is going through a similar process, she went to an antique jewelry dealer (the jewelry is about 150 years old), and also had the pieces upraised at Christie's in Paris (a friend works there). I think her decision is to go with the antique dealer for the pieces none of her sibblings want, but he will no doubt post them on Ebay or the like, as he says most of his buyers are in the UK. If it were up to me, none of the pieces would be sold.
