EDIT: as ii realize post too long, this is my question boiled down: - suggestions for couch/sofa makers who make up sofas in natural/alinine leather that ages gracefully - if you have any models in mind i need a 2-3 seater max 220 cm in a model that fits in with a Victorian house with vintage/ecclectic pieces _____________________ if you are bored/dont mind reading a novel you can see below: i am moving house and wish to purchase a leather sofa. the London property is over 100 years and eclectic - old oak flooring, old paintings, mirrors and silverwear and vintage pieces throughout. if it helps to descibe my taste in furnishings i would say "liberty" meets vintage, perhaps you could say shabby chic although i know that term is terrible. i'm looking for a sofa that has natural leather (aniline if i can afford) that will age rather then the "protected" leathers that show a uniform colour and do not age from my understanding (cheaper leathers used and lower quality hidden through use of dies and "protectants" so i understand) my budget is limited to £2kish (may go slightly over but not by much) for a sofa up to 220 max cm wide. anyways, the closest i have found thus far... Heals Sofa in large (love the shape. unfortunately only 5 leather choices and none of the leathers are natural, so the sofa will not really age at all which is a problem for me). good thing is its 50% off and currently £1695 which is within budget but i fear the sofa will look the same in 10 years as it does new, which is not the look i'm after.. http://www.heals.co.uk/sofas/bold-s...SZAxrxzsF/15gEP9WgSdH8nmI7hvy8DZ O16GfMS4fw== The other one i liked (and that does not blow my budget) is the Natuzzi Clark (love the leather selection and also on sale and comes in at £1900 for mid-grade leathers BUT i fear its too modern for my Victorian flat http://www.natuzzi.co.uk/10/16/collection/26/sofas/18178/clark/64/en-gb/ THe only other option I can think of is John Lewis but i have only found semi-anildine finishes there and i dont even know what that means. So, any advice on the above choices or any other suggestions for shops would be much appreciated. i really like the Heals Couch but i wish to get a darker colour leather would come in a natural or closer to aniline finish. the only leathers they have for the Bold couch apparently will not show patina and age the way i wish and Heals wont make up the Bold sofa in other leathers which is frustrating. also their staff seem lost and i had to wait over 30 minutes for an answer to "are the sofas made in teh UK?". i believe they can make up other couches in the higher quality leather, but none of those couches are 50% off as the BOlder model is Natuzzi on Tottenham COurt Road staff were great but i felt the sofas there so modern, the Heals designs seemed better suited for a period property but i may be wrong. anyways i'm quite disgruntled after spending a few hours on Tottenham Court Road and feeling more confused then anything. any advice on leathers and stores would be helpful...i jsut want to get the best quality sofa for around 2k.. if you have read all this thanks a lot because this is longer then intended. thanks.
