Hi,

I am a 25 year-old single male with a receding hairline and thinning hair and am writing to seek opinions on what I should do about it given that I have had brain surgery as a child and therefore have a scar all the way down the back of my head. Should I leave it to recede naturally, just cut it really short or shave it off now thus exposing my surgical scar? Do these large scars put females off?

Thanks.

I doubt a scar would put girls off, could be a turn on actually - different strokes..! If it really bothers you, you can always get scar revision surgery or look into hair growth products.

Personally i'd just cut it short and focus on making the remaining hair a bit thicker.

Cut it short to see if you like it.

I began to loose my hair at 16 and found that shorter made it look better, neater. I think an overall neater and more stylish appearance will more than compensate for a scar.

I had a bad scar next to my eye as a child. It seemed to become less obvious in my later 20's and even less as time when on. Perhaps your scar will become less obvious over time as well especially if exposed to more sun with shorter hair.

Concoct a great story about your scars. Something about saving children from a firey death or from a Great White.
