Advice on where to shop on one day in NYC?

I've got one more day in the States before I head back to Asia, and I'd love to do some shoe shopping before I go. I'm only just this year getting into this classic shoes thing, so it would probably be my first time in any American shop of quality (though I did order a nice pair from Cobbler Union online). Back in the spring I made the sort of trip to mecca, as I understood it, to the Isetan men's store in Tokyo. What a playground that was! Any tips on how to get my fix in New York?

You could check out the new Carmina shop on 45th and Vanderbilt or if you like Alden's, Moulded Shoe on 39th Street for the modified last.

JW Weston at Madison and 58th. Crockett & Jones has a store at madison and 55th and very close is Bergdorf Goodman at Fifth Ave and 58th that always has an interesting variety of shoes by many makers. A few blocks from Bergdorf is Barney's (Madison and 60th) with a large, multi-brand shoe department. Check out all of these online first to be sure they suit your style and then go. They are all in a few blocks of each other. Then, about 10 blocks away, guys on Styleforum love Carmina at 45th and Madison. While there go next door to Paul Stuart for their own house brand of dress-casual shoes. Leffot is much further downtown. Check out what they have online and then go if you like what you see. Have fun!
