Hi guys,
I have some question about how my look works with short socks, as I'm wearing it. or should I use "invisible" socks?

Also, should I use short sleeve shirts? instead of t-shirts?.
I'm 40 YO.

Thanks!

The golden rule when wearing shorts is "no socks" at all... only the Brits could ever pull off a Bermuda pant with over the calf socks elegantly... the rest of the world always looks ridiculous in shorts and socks (and this is a German saying this, who is ashamed of his fellow countrymen's bad habit of even wearing socks with sandals :D). If you need anything to protect your feet from chafing in the shoes, go for these "invisible" socks that disappear completely in the shoe.

As this is a super casual look best suited for the beach or boardwalk or casual outing with friends, chose whatever T-shirt sleeve length you prefer. Personally, I'd stay away from tank tops; unless worn for sports like Basketball they just look ridiculous in public and like underwear IMHO.

Hi, thanks for your answer.

Personally said:
I was referring to short sleeve shirt like

Would that shirt go with those shoes and short pants?
Thanks!

Ah, understand... with shorts I personally prefer short sleeved shirts with pattern. This is a summer look, so something down the line of a Hawaii shirt is the way to go. Otherwise, stay with polo shirts or T-shirts.

yeah, unless you're in workout attire, socks with shorts just don't look good - especially not with loafers like that. You can check out some of the no-see sock options if you need the sweat absorption but IMO, most times you still kind of see them. I'd invest in some foot powder and ditch the socks entirely.

I find it hard to pull off wearing shorts with these kinds of shoes. Instead I would have worn either sandals without socks or sneakers if you must wear socks. Alternatively you could go for canvas shoes but I’m not sure if this would suit your age.

If you’re going to ditch the socks, check out Yoox.com for some ideas on sandals. Can I suggest sandal brands like Stiu, Fabi or Birkenstock if you have some money to burn, or Hush Puppies or Colorado if you would prefer not to spend more than $100 bit still maintain a casual look.
