I've had problems with a very prominent member of the AAAC forum who sells on ebay. I've bought a significant number of suits, shoes and trousers from him - and in the last but one batch there was something missing. I assumed it was an oversight, and he said he'd sort it out. So i buy some more stuff and not only was the item not there, there was another item missing and another item with a big problem. Refund/sorting out etc was promised. This was last August. Numerous emails and further promises have yielded nothing.

The amount is less than 100usd and all the paypal/ebay protection no longer applies due to the time elapsed. I'm really wondering how this happens...

Who is the seller?

Perhaps raising his name on the board will draw a response. I've had good luck personally with folks on the AAAC and SF forums.

Think before posting name. Try to work it out with him first. How has this delay elapsed? How much communication have you had with him?

On AAAC right how, some dispute between theworldsfinest and a disgruntled buyer goes on for pages and pages and makes both parties look bad differently.

Going public is a little like going to court....you lose control of the process. So it's a last resort.

No, I'm not going to name him. One, it probably would achieve nothing, two, noone would believe my story and three, at the back of my mind, I still think that if I give him one more chance, he'll sort things out.

Thanks, and to all who pm'd me. Quite coincidentally, I received a reply from his assistant saying that a refund will be arranged. I'll update if required.

Bengel Stripe:

Thanks for the clairification.

Also let me clairfy there is no such thing as an "AAAC seller on ebay". Anyone who is a member of the AskAndyAboutClothes.com Forum sells without my endorsement.

chobochobo made it clear in the post with a "prominent member of the AAAC forum who sells on ebay".

I contacted that member and understand that he has contacted chobochobo and they are working it out. but I would like to hear the results!

Thanks,

Andy

You can always visit both forums and form your own opinion about that.

AAAC has more of that, but StyleForum has good discussions on the topic as well. You should also visit The London Lounge, which will be very good for that. The Fedora Lounge will give you a historical perspective on business dress, and Dandyism.net will give you its own quirky discussions (though maybe not always as conservative as far as business style is concerned).
