The quality of construction on these shoes is excellent. I think that they're ugly, but that might just be me.

I have to agree with jcusey. But, if they're your style and you don't mind paying that much for them (that is, you like them better than all of your alternatives at that price point) then go for it.

If I were rich I would buy those in a second. Who makes these shoes, or does Zegna make their own shoes?

While I would never argue with jcusey about quality of shoes, I will say that I think those shoes are beautiful. If I had the money, I'd buy those in a heartbeat. I love that marbled leather.

I don't like the metal "decoration", which I suspect carries a Zegna name/logo. Even if I liked the shoes, the $595 price would cause me hesitation, maybe infinite hesitation. I'd rather put the money toward John Lobb or EG shoes.

Personally I like Zegna LE shoes better than Lobb and EG (qualitywise), but thats just me.

Those are rebranded Ferragamos, and damned ugly ones. God alone knows who really made them.

People say Ferragamo makes shoes for Zegna, but Ferragamo does not make their shoes. So... who really make shoes for Zegna?

I was told just a couple of days ago that Ferragamo DOES make the main line Ermenegildo Zegna shoes (don't know about the lower Zegna lines though). Mind you, this was from a Harrods sales assistant, so not first hand from a Zegna specialist. She did sound pretty knowledgeable about various shoes though.

I personally don't fancy the style of shoe in the original post, but I do have a different pair of Ferragamo for Zegna loafer and the construction appears good. I'm not "shoe-aware" enough to say whether it compares to Tramezzas rather than regular Ferragamos. Just eyeballing them though, it appears superior to my regular Ferragamos and about equal to Tramezzas.

I received similar information from my Nieman Marcus salesperson.

Zegna Couture are slightly better made via the 'tramezza' process than standard tramezza in my opinion. I own both.

The limited editions or these shoes in question however look to be of a much higher end than the Zegna Couture styling aside.

If I remember correctly, Ron Rider mentioned that Campanile makes Zegna's shoes. I would take his word over that of any sales person. Also, a coworker has Campanile branded shoes he picked up in Rome and the leather and construction is outstanding.
