Advice on clothes brushes?

Do any of you own clothes brushes, and if so, would you recommend the ones you use?

Mine is a horsehair brush with a wood handle and base. It says "National 101" on the handle. It's terrific. I got it at Nordstrom more than 10 years ago.

I don't remember what I paid for mine, but it wasn't much. All you want is a horsehair brush (or badger, but that's more expensive) that's about 6 to 8 inches long, with fairly soft bristles.

It probably wouldn't work as well, because the bristles are too stiff and too short. Also, my brush is very slightly curved, which somehow helps bring the dust up.

My mom (in France) has several clothes brushes for different materials. I was thinking perhaps one could find a set of brushes, or is the one brush you use, Manton, sufficient?

I have never felt the need for anything else, but of course 90% of what I wear is wool or a wool blend. My linens and cottons are light-colored enough that I have to have them cleaned much more often than my woolens. Therefore the brush gets less use.

I own two clothes brushes, one for travel and one for home.

My "home" brush is by Kent. It is double sided, with longer, softer bristles on one side and shorter, stiffer bristles on the other side. I bought it online. Can't remember where. A google of kent brushes will no doubt find one like it.

My "travel" brush I bought at Jos. A. Banks at the local mall. It is a combination clothes brush and shoe-horn, that folds up to be compact enough to fit in my shaving kit.

Both work well.

Do you use a clothes brush on your cotton shirts? I just wash them after every wear (gentle cycle, each shirt gets washed about once every 14 days).

Not me. I don't think it would really do anthing. The surface is so smooth, and the weave is so tight, that I doubt the bristles would have much effect.
