ADVICE NEEDED...Changing Shoe Color

I purchased a pair of Sutor Mantellassi (352 last), cap toe, "oxblood", oxfords some time ago. Everything is fine except I've become uncomfortable with the color, which appears quite red especially when worn with common shades of brown/gray/charcoal slacks. Unless I wear a pant with some rust or reddish brown hue, tint or pattern, the shoe color is distinct to the point of distraction.

I'm considering changing the color, leaning towards a dark brown or blackening (it may not be discernable in the pic but the shoe has a light, black, antiquing finish). I noted previous threads regarding "changing shoe color" and tried to revive one earlier but didn't receive any feedback.

Does anyone now if RIDER or others still provide the darkening/antiquing service previously discussed on the forum?

Thanks

England

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
