What recommendations do you have for "business casual" shoes? I would like some that have the following characteristics:

1. Comfortable--good for walking long distances
2. Classic yet stylish looking
3. Versatile--good with business casual or with jeans
4. Quality

Budget: apprx. $100-$300 (the lower the better, though am willing to pay for quality if it is worth it)

I am going to recommend something from Allen Edmonds, as that is probably the cheapest "good" quality shoe (full-grain leather, Goodyear welted) you can get.

There are a few models on sale at Nordstrom right now (starting today, actually) that might fit your needs, like the Strands in walnut or LaSalle in chili. If you want to go more casual than these, there is the Elgin model from the rough collection. This is currently on sale at AE stores and on the website. Nordstrom has the McTavish in black on sale as well. With the reduced prices, all of these shoes should fit comfortably in your budget. Don't forget to get shoe trees.

Does the 1st Avenue boot ever go on sale?
I'm looking to purchase, but would prefer not to spend full retail at $425!
