Advice/Expertise Needed on this Suit Wrinkle

Hello Experts,
Is anyone able to identify what the issue may be that is causing these wrinkles at the seam/above the pockets in this jacket? It is off the peg, not tailored (sorry for the spotty mirror). It's a lightweight, unlined 40R, which usually fits pretty spot-on. It doesn't feel tight or anything. But even if I stand relaxed, they are there. Do I just need to have it pressed?

Thank you in advance!

Did you use a steamer on that suit?

No sir that is straight out of the box.

There are two possibilities

1. That area is where the fusing delaminated from the shell fabric. This is rare, but it happens.

2. Someone before you steamed the suit to get out the wrinkles. People often do this, and it's bad for tailored jackets. Injudicious use of steam can wreak havoc on a jacket in a few ways. It can cause the delamination mentioned earlier; it can blow out the seams; or it can make the different layers of material shrink at different rates, causing puckering.

If you're able to return the jacket, I would do that. Otherwise, give the jacket to a tailor who can do a hand press for you. A hand press will not solve issue number one, but it can sometimes solve the issues created by number two in the list above.

Thank you for your help, once again!
