    At work, mostly.
    Hi all,

I've been thinking for a long time about buying a pair of black Adelaïdes and thought I'd go for EG's Lichfield on the 82 last. I thought I'd wait for EG's sale in June to see if there was something around, and if not, that I would order the pair afterwards.

While browsing on eBay I found a pair of John Lobb's Adelaïdes in my size : http://cgi.ebay.com/John-Lobb-Adelai...QQcmdZViewItem.

Now I'm wondering ... In terms of quality, IIRC the forum seems to put JL and EG on the same level ... Am I right ?

Is there a way to compare the 8695 last with EG's 82 last (an absolute favourite of mine) ? The 8695 last seems pretty much like a mix between EG's 82 and 202 to me ...

Any thoughts welcome to tell me if I'd bid on this pair of shoes. (as far as reputation of the seller is concerned, I think I have already read here that he was quite reputable). Thanks in advance !

That's correct if we are talking about JL regular line vs. EG. JL Prestige line is about $400 more.

I agree with your description. 8695 is quite similar to 202 but with a hint of banana shape to it and a tad less round.

Between the JL Adelaide and EG Lichfield I think it comes down to fits, your personal preference and price.

FYI - EG had the Lichfield with a toe medallion on the 888 during their last sale.
