Adding belt loops to a pair of suit pants?

I recently received a suit that I ordered online and while it fits very well, the pants have side tab adjusters and no belt loops. The pants haven't been hemmed yet - can I use the extra fabric from the hemming to add belt loops? Would my tailor be able to do this?

Won't cost much, it's not a particularly hard job. $20 at most. Though I would try them with the tabs only first, a lot of people like them, and if the pants are well fitted, you shouldn't need a belt.

As an aside, you should have adjusters or belt loops, but not both since the side adjusters are useless (and look ridiculous) when wearing a belt.

All that said, if you've got a nice pair of trousers created with side adjusters, why do you want to add, err, substitute belt loops anyway?
