I have a nice George Austin navy blue solid(no stripes) suit that looks nice and I used for business.. I would like to have a vest that matches it. Is is a pretty standard navy blue. Is there a way to buy a matching navy blue vest that REALLY matches? Or if I want a navy blue vested suit that looks nice and professional, do I need to buy a new suit with a vest?

Difficult even if you know which mill the cloth came from, as there are variations even from batch to batch.

Welcome to the forum, Dave. Without knowing the exact cloth, it's damn near impossible.

Id try a contrast. Like a grey. That way it would not be so close as to maybe give the wrong match.

Agree with this. A nice dove grey vest looks really sharp with a navy suit.

However, unless the trousers of the suit have a suitably high rise, it's not going to work. And if the trousers require a belt, don't even think about it. Never, ever, wear a vest with a belt.

He's also mentioned that he uses this suit "for business". I'm not sure what line of business he's in (or where), but I would think a navy suit with a dove grey waistcoat, while often a wonderful look, might be a bit much for most people's business environment. Though if he's looking to help that suit branch out into an "occasion" suit as well, that might work.
Caveats provided by the others still applies: don't try to get an exact match (not going to happen) and make sure the suit will look right with a waistcoat (as per the previous post).
