‘Friday Night Lights’ author in rehab for shopping

An excerpt:
...my name is Buzz Bissinger and I am a shopaholic. In a personal essay Bissinger details a shopping and fashion addiction that costs $587,000 since 2010. Bissinger tallies some of his most expensive items: a $22,000 Gucci lambswool coat, an ostrich skin jacket that cost him almost $14,000, and $5,600 leather pants.

I wonder if he is a member here.

The article is in this month's GQ, and trust me, from the photos, there is no way that Buzz Bissinger is Spoo - the author is an overweight 58-year-old with a taste for the more extreme products from the house of Gucci (there are a few photos - a "before" his shopping addiction, and an "after" - in the "after" photo, he looks ridiculous - Spoo never looks ridiculous - well, at least not fat and ridiculous :satisfied:).

Taste aside, I bet there is more than one member here who exhibits this type of addictive behavior. :embar:

"My Old Navy Addiction":

"I've bought 81 graphic tees. Dozens of shorts, both board and cargo.

"During a recent trip to the Navy, a fellow shopper said I looked like Luke from The OC, a compliment that at this point in my life means more to me than any piece of writing.

"I own 124 polos, 75 sweaters emblazoned with Old Navy Athletics, 41 pairs of khakis, 12 track jackets, and 115 pairs of novelty-print boxers covered in pizzas and beach balls and burgers and ducks.

"I own items from American Eagle, Abercrombie, Aeropostale, Banana Republic, Gap, Forever21, Lacoste, J. Crew, Wet Seal, and Hollister. I also have several pieces of limited-edition Penguin polos. They’re worth every penny and more."

Hahaha, of course space is the one thing that really is expensive in our current economy. How do these people afford the closet space?

Also, I hope they give to Good Will and don't just throw the stuff away.
