1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Are square toe shoes really popular in the US?
    They're quite vile...

For that little extra dash of carefree, elegant sprezzatura, try wearing no pants at all.

Proper socks. No mezza calza. Meaning "half socks." A phrase the Italians use for men who are coarse or unrefined.

Silk underwear is overrated. Heck, silk anything is overrated, except for ties, pocket squares and dinner jacket facings.

no square toe shoes...i see this all the time in DC

Ditto. During a moment of indiscretion, I bought a pair of square-toed shoes on sale. It now sits in a place of prominence on my shoe rack, as a caution against future indiscretions.

Always wear Shell Cordovan. [IMG] Many colors and styles if you look hard enough and are patient.

Technically not style advice but a necessary component of correct appearance:

If you happen to have consumed a large quantity of onions, resist the urge to fart later, and not even a 'test fart', even if it means permanent internal damage.

You will suffer irreparable social catastrophe.

    Or alternatively, avoid onions.

Well if gas is your problem, then problem solved.
Take 1 or 2 BEANO capsules before eating the big dinner.
It is an enzyme that will prevent gas altogether.
It's not just for older people. It's for everyone.

Are you sitting there with a fountain of knowledge that you should probably pass on to someone less informative than yourself.
If so, please list one or more piece of fashion/style advice you would like to pass on.
It could be as simple as : one should never wear white socks with black shoes etc etc, you get the point.

Do not wear yellow shirts with suits. Is this still considered stylish in Ireland?

It was very popular in Ireland for a while. I can't say that I noticed the patterned shirts thing, though I do own a lot of checks.

There's no such thing as rules for a "good cut suit". Rather a good cut is one that is good for the individual.

If you wear half socks, always wear sock suspenders.

Yes, square-toed shoes are quite popular in the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, thanks in part to Kenneth Cole.
