Last night I had the following dream: I was getting dressed for work, and went to get a pair of brown shoes. When I started to put them on, I saw that they were not the brown Santonis I had expected. Instead, they were a pair of "Sketchers" in what appeared to be a light tan ostrich.

I am not making this up.

Let the analysis begin. Or comparable stories, though I'm not sure what can compare to this.

It could be much worse ... if you had placed a pair of Kenneth Cole's on your feet, I would suggest that you rush to the nearest asylum for shock treatment.

I seriously had a dream of meeting manton wearing a horribly fitting suit. At least it wasn't black.

Need clarification; Manton was wearing a horribly fitting suit or you were, when you met him?

Ever had one of those days where you are tired and you grab clothes thinking they will look ok? Well, two examples: I have a few corduroy trousers, one greenish brown and one brown. Unfortunately a lot of the lighting in my apartment is yellow tinged. Guess what happenned. Ever left the house with brown suede chukkas, brown corduroys and a brown shirt

? I must have looked like a complete doofus. I only realised what I had done after I left the car to walk in to work. The tinge of the light meant that the brown trousers looked green to me inside. Then there is the other... sort of related. Any parrot owners here can relate to this one. Walking around for a whole day at work with a stain on the back of your shoulder due to the bird deciding it is too much effort to let you know it wants to crap. Then once you get home you notice what the little bastard did to you

p.s. forgot to mention the brown belt & watchstrap

Oh, sorry. I guess that was unclear. I was wearing the horribly ill-fitting suit.

If only I'd had you tailor it first, Chris!

I can relate. One morning last year, I threw on a pair of chocolate brown trousers, drove to the parking lot, made the 5 minute walk to my office, looked down, and discovered I was wearing black trousers (with brown shoes, etc.). I turned around and went home to change.

I have had sartorial nightmares as well. Usually relating to pairing horrible colour choices together. I think once you've had dreams relating to clothing you are a true SF member. I have these types of dreams fairly frequently, I always laugh about it in the morning. Clothing is so important I think about not just while awake, but while asleep.

You want to kill your father and sleep with your mother.

Yeah, I am sure that the DSM-II mentions sartorial dreams as being a strong indicator of Oedipoedian tendencies
